Born from the rugged, schist-strewn slopes of the Douro Valley, the Duorum Altitude project is a testament to the vision of Joao Portugal Ramos and José Maria Soares Franco. By selecting vineyards situated at higher elevations, they aim to capture the freshness and elegance that the region's intense heat often masks, creating a wine that balances traditional heritage with modern precision. This 2024 vintage captures the quintessence of the high-altitude Douro terroir. The cool nights at these elevations allow the Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca grapes to develop profound aromatic complexity while maintaining a vibrant acidity, resulting in a profile that is as energetic as the dramatic landscape from which it originates.
